"Yes, to confirm, the high alch value of RuneScape gold nature runes was altered. This WAS NOT DUE TO BOTS. I want to make it clear what the reason was. This update was not in any way a cave-in to the bots/rwt'rs that some conspiracy theoryists claim to exist on RS. We can assure that our game will be 100% bot-free.
Surprisingly, it began because of a small retribution from another member. But, it turned out to be a smart decision. Mod WhatsBotting (my colleague) was on his commute to work in the morning last week. To do his part in halting the warming of the planet and preventing it from exploding in just a few billion years, he prefers to use public transport. He passes the elementary school on his way to the bus stop.
Since our Jagex headquarters are so close to the main elementary school's campus, the kids have a familiarity with Jagex games, and a majority of them also play Runescape. Mod WhatsBotting had just passed the school, and a group of naive kids began to shout at him, using taunts such as, "HAHAHA Failgex employees!" You're so terrible in games that you could now alch nature runes profitably:L" and "When will you transform Runescape to Leescape?"
Then, Mod WhatsBotting had already had a rough morning, his crumpets were cold, he split his cup of tea and he could not locate his Ipad and, of course that he didn't remember to take his Zoloft. Thus, he was rather depressed so the children's words hit him like an arrow, and really hurt the man.
On the way to work, he was thinking about the issue and took an oath against the kids by lowering their natural rune alch prices. Mod WhatsBotting is high in the food chain, so no one can override his desicion except for Paul who is away at Crumpetfest 2011. For this moment, the prices for alch remain. Please don't pay attention to conspiracy theories or their mythology of cheap OSRS gold mythical bots. They aren't real.
